These knives are sharp and stay sharp. Good construction and good match up of sizes. My wife absolutely loves these. It's risky to buy cooking or cleaning supplies as a gift for a wife, but these impressed her so much I managed to get away with it this year! My only complaint is that I would have preferred an angled holder for the knives as these are difficult to store and use under our relative low cabinets. That's pretty minor given how much we love using the knives themselves. I waited 6 months before writing the review to see if the knives really did hold their edge, and I must say these are still the sharpest knives in our house, and they get daily use. Thanks to the Amazon community for steering me to a great buy on this one! | |||

I noticed that some complain about not being able to sharpen the heel end: simple solution: use the sharpening steel and not an electric sharpener. I wash mine in warm soapy water and rinse well under a hot tap then dry thoroughly, returning them to the block. | |||
